Story Doll™ | Faith Fawn

From the nursery shelf, to the prime cuddle spot in a big kid bed, these fawns make the sweetest woodland nursery decor and the perfect companion for little hands and big hearts.

These Fawns have a story. Originally designed by observing the family of deer out my backyard window, they were missing their heart, their name, their purpose. Nearly a year after loving them and making them, a beautiful thing happened - one of my fawns found a home with a woman going through fertility treatments. She makes a faith purchase once a month in the hopes of having a child soon enough to love. When she shared that with me, it hit my heart hard. The challenges to motherhood vary, but that ache and longing are universal. I hadn't yet named my Fawn doll, which was highly unusual, but I knew I wanted to honour the hope and struggle of this woman story and all of those women who climb the steps of motherhood never knowing how many steps are in front of them. The newly named Faith Fawns had found their heart.

Every Fawn will arrive with a story card with a poem about hope, perseverance and parenthood. So, when you know a family facing a hard path to parenthood, you can let them know you’re thinking of them and gift them a little faith.

Materials & Care

Materials

Our fawns are hand crafted from a mix of premium 100% cotton and an Essex linen, chosen for its durability and beauty. This linen has occasional coloured threads and slubs to add a vintage texture.

Each Story Doll™ Faith Fawn features a hand embroidered face and stands approximately 9” tall. Great care goes into ensuring all seams are double stitched to create an heirloom quality toy. They are then firmly hand stuffed with hypoallergenic poly fibre manufactured in Canada, then hand-stitched closed.

Care

Machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry at low heat.

Safety

Supervised play required for children under three years of age.
